At HomeConnect, your privacy and data security are our top priorities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and related web services.
1. Information We Collect
To provide home management and family hub functionality, HomeConnect collects the following categories of information:
- Account Information: Email address, user display name, avatar image, and authentication tokens processed securely via Supabase Auth and Firebase.
- Household Data: Task items, shopping lists, calendar events, shared expense splitting records, and community poll votes created within your household group.
- Document Vault Metadata: Titles, expiration alerts, and file attachments uploaded into your private family vault. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest.
2. Location & Geofencing Permissions
HomeConnect includes automated household presence detection features powered by native device geofencing (`native_geofence`) and local Wi-Fi SSID matching (`network_info_plus`).
Strict Location Privacy Guarantee:
- Geofence monitoring triggers only when entering or exiting your defined household boundary.
- Continuous live GPS tracking histories are NEVER recorded, saved, or uploaded to external servers.
- Location data is strictly used to update your household status ("At Home" / "Away") for family members.
3. Data Security & Storage
We employ industry-standard encryption protocols (TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest) for all stored records.
- Database management is handled via Supabase PostgreSQL with strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies.
- Push notification tokens are dispatched exclusively via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
- We do not sell, rent, or trade user data to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
4. Push Notifications
With your permission, HomeConnect sends push notifications for household reminders, calendar events, shared task updates, and presence changes. You can modify notification preferences anytime within the mobile app settings or your device OS permissions.
5. Your Data Rights & Account Deletion
You have full control over your personal data. In accordance with Apple App Store and Google Play Developer policies:
- You can request complete account deletion and data erasure at any time.
- Upon deletion, your profile, authentication records, presence history, and document vault uploads are permanently removed.
